[REPLAY] LTC: Consumer Perceptions (What’s Changed, What Hasn’t, and How Producers Can Close the Planning Gap) From OneAmerica

Recorded 10/27/2026

With Long-Term Care Awareness Month coming up in November, we want to shed some light on what consumers are saying regarding long-term care. From our own consumer study in 2024 and LIMRA’s barometer study in 2026, one thing is clear: consumers continue to believe that LTC planning is a priority.

Some of the key takeaways for those who were not able to attend:

  • Consumers continue to tell us this is a priority in their retirement planning process
  • Common misconceptions around funding methods and options available continue to persist
  • The Sandwich Generation and familiar stories of caregiving will continue to drive consumers to start being more proactive in these conversations
  • Consumers are using digital resources, such as social media, to look for advisors and information
  • Education is what they need and desire, so this should be the focus for client conversations and promotional messaging
