Submitting A Pre-Underwriting Inquiry

A Pre-Underwriting Inquiry (PUI) is our informal inquiry program where you can submit your applicant’s health history for review. 

In collaboration with our Sales Team over the past few months, we reviewed our current PUI form and the underwriting responses we provided. As a result, we are excited to introduce a newly revised PUI form that will allow us to review a more complete health profile of your applicant and provide a more detailed and consistent response.  

Upon receipt of the PUI, Underwriting will review the information and advise if we can consider for both Asset Care and Annuity Care. We will also let you know if your applicant is eligible for expedited or full underwriting, whether there may be a potential rating for Asset Care, or limitations to the COB rider for Annuity Care.   

Some things to remember:

  • On the new PUI form, you only need to complete the client information section and the related medical history.
  • If you proceed with submitting a formal application, please include a copy of the PUI form and the response from Underwriting.
  • The response is tentative, subject to receipt of a formal application and review of all underwriting requirements.
  • Please do not guarantee the Pre-Underwriting Inquiry (PUI) response to the applicant.
