DI Sales illustration system issues identified, fix in progress

Use new Life, DI forms effective April 23

We recently announced MassMutual’s Radius Choice disability income (DI) insurance product, which launched early 2021 in most jurisdictions, will now be available in California, the District of Columbia, and New York on April 23. Increased Issue and Participation (I&P) Limits also will be available in all jurisdictions.

Illustration system upgrade issues
It has come to our attention that the DI Sales Illustration system (SIDI) is currently experiencing the following issues around the new I&P limits for occupation classes 5A/4A in all states except California, Florida, and Puerto Rico:

  • Allows a combination of Base + SIR + FIO to exceed $20,000 when illustrating the Future Insurability Rider (FIO). Please adjust the amount of Base + SIR + FIO  to not exceed $20,000 as the higher amount will not be approved.
  • May not allow the maximum eligible amount when illustrating a Base amount greater than $20,000 when Existing Coverages are included on the case.

Note: This notification has been posted on the front page of the illustration system. We are working on correcting the issue and anticipate it will be resolved by mid-May. 

Life, DI forms updated for new Radius Choice in Calif. and D.C.
Effective April 23, you should begin using updated life and DI insurance forms for California and the District of Columbia, where the enhanced Radius Choice DI insurance product now will be available.

Updated forms

  • Application for Individual Life & Disability Insurance (Part 1) (A2000CA 0815 v.5, A2000DC 0217 v.3).
  • Benefit Increase Rider (BIR) Application (FR2169CA 0820, FR2169DC 0820).
  • Outline of Coverage (OXLIS-RC-20(CA)) including RetireGuard.
  • Producer’s Certificate (F26a(CA) 0820).

Updated packages

  • Benefit Increase Rider (BIR) Application Package (FR2169P-XX 0422).
  • DI New Business Application Package (A2000P(DI)-XX 0422).
  • Life/DI New Business Application Package (A2000P-XX 0422).
  • Life New Business Application Package (A2000P(LI)-XX 0422). 

Availability

New forms and packages will be available via the following environments beginning April 22 unless otherwise indicated:

  • FormsPipe (iPipeline).
  • Life App Express (LAX).
  • LifeSpeed (Ebix).

Transition period

  • Radius Choice: New versions of forms are required for applications submitted on and after April 23.

Note: Both the old series and new series products will be available for sale through May 5 in California, the District of Columbia, and New York. The new application must be used for all submissions (old series and new series) beginning April 23. An illustration must be submitted with applications for the old series product.

  • All other life and DI products Old and new versions of forms will be accepted through May 23:

Note: Only new versions of forms will be accepted for submissions signed on and after May 24.
