Long-Term Care Time Service Update

On behalf of Mutual of Omaha, we want to first and foremost thank you for the amount of long-term care business we have been receiving here at the home office. We know this is due to your ongoing loyalty and partnership.

We remain committed to providing the quality service you have come to expect, and our new business and underwriting teams are fully operational. However, due to high volumes of new business, our LTC underwriting and new business teams are experiencing delays in time service. In response, we have underwriters and case managers working overtime, nights and weekends to make sure your business is handled properly and as quickly as possible.

In addition, we are working diligently to improve these delays by:
• Hiring and training an additional class of Case Managers in December
• Focusing on process improvement and streamlining case handling workflows

You can be assured that we are doing everything possible to get your cases issued in a timely manner. We expect to make incremental improvements over the next several weeks and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through the current influx of business.

Until then, here’s what you can do to help:
• Prescreen your applicants
• Ensure your applications are in good order before submitting
• Utilize our LTC e-Application
• Take advantage of the interview status reports on SPA
• Access the ReleasePoint portal for up-to-date status on APS requirements

We will continue to keep you informed of our service levels. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Sales Director or Account Executive.
