Announcing Mike Brandriet’s Promotion

Dear Producers and IMO Partners,

It is with great pride that I announce that Mike Brandriet, who joined American Equity in September 2020, has been promoted to Chief Distribution Officer. 

Mike has been a tremendous asset to our team as we build for our future here at AEL. His 30 years of knowledge in recruiting and building sales teams has been instrumental in redesigning our AEL IMO Distribution model as part of our AEL 2.0 Go-To-Market Strategy.  

As Mike officially begins his new role, the time has come for me to begin my transition to retirement. What does that look like for me? Going forward I will assist Mike and our CEO, Anant Bhalla, in more client-facing business activities and serve as Vice Chairman of American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company, however, normal business decisions will be handled by Mike and the team.  

While I will see many of you at the upcoming events, I would be remiss not to take this time to say thank you for supporting me and American Equity through the years. I have had an unbelievable time being part of this company’s success story!

I remain very excited about American Equity’s future. The evolution of our business is positioning us as a dominant provider within the Fixed Indexed Annuity market. Our Shield suite of products promises policyholders financial dignity as they embrace retirement, and we all know AEL products are built on a foundation of world-class service.
