This course provides student with a description of the issues surrounding long-term care and specifically issues women are likely to face. The program will include discussion on retirement and ageing, the need for long-term care in the US, costs surrounding this care. We will also discuss the impact long-term care needs have on the caregiver as well as the cared for and who is more likely to need the protection of long-term care insurance coverage. The students will get an overview of government programs including Medicare, Medicaid ad CLASS. In addition, this course will cover the different options available to the consumer for obtaining long-term care protection. Finally, we will discuss several options the financial planner may utilize to help the consumer decide how to fund such coverage.
