Editing Submitted e-Applications
If an e-Application is still in “Application in Progress” or “Pending Signature” status, you can go back and make edits, corrections, or updates. Your e-App dashboard will show the current status of each application. As long as the application hasn’t been signed, you have the flexibility to update it.
Below is a step-by-step guide for editing applications in these statuses and managing product selections and quoted rates.
How to Edit an e-Application
- Access the Application
- From your e-App dashboard, find the client’s name and open their individual profile by clicking on their name.
- Editing an “Application in Progress”
- If the status is “Application in Progress,” click the blue ‘Continue Application’ link. This opens the application so you can resume where you left off.
- Navigate to any section (e.g., Applicant Information, Medicare Questions, Payment, Producer Questions, Review and Submit) using the menu on the left and edit any information. Update the information and keep filling out the application or save your progress to finish it at another time.
- Editing a “Pending Signature Application”
- If the status is “Pending Signature,” you’ll see a warning:
“Editing a record in ‘Pending Signature’ status will disable the existing authorization number, and the application will need to be resubmitted for signature. Click Proceed to Edit only if you’re sure.” - Click ‘Proceed to Edit’ to make changes. After editing, you must resubmit the application for signature to generate a new authorization number.
- If the status is “Pending Signature,” you’ll see a warning:
- Managing Products and Quotes
- Inside the application, if you need to change the plan type or underwriting details, click the ‘Manage Products’ link in the blue box on the left. This takes you back to the original quote page, where you can review and update plan information.
Important Reminders
- Once an application is signed and submitted, no further edits can be made.
- Applications in underwriting require an amendment—a voice signature amendment is usually the fastest option.
- Applications stay on your dashboard for 60 days. If the application was signed, it can be located on the My Business tab on SPA, under the Policy Management or Book of Business Tools. After 60 days of inactivity, the application will no longer available and a new application must be started.
Ways to Access e-Applications
- From the left-hand menu on your SPA homepage, click ‘Electronic Applications’ link.
- Under the ‘Sales and Marketing’ tab at the top of SPA, select the ‘Electronic Applications’ link.
- From any Medicare Solutions product page, choose the ‘Submit an E-App’ button located within the dark blue box at the bottom.
For more information review the e-Application Storefront Guide and e-App Storefront video, both located on the Product Resources page on SPA and on the e-Application main page.
