WA State SecureCare Processing Update

Important details regarding the final processing of WA state LTC / SecureCare business.

The deadline for processing a WA state SecureCare policy is 10/29 at 3pm CST

We are making every attempt to underwrite and process WA SecureCare policies before the 10/29 deadline. Here are a couple important items to note:

• We have accelerated all WA state tele-interviews in an attempt to provide enough time to underwrite those cases. We were able to accelerate all but a couple of those cases which were completed by end of last week.  
• APS orders will prove to be a challenge. If you have cases pending APS, we recommend you or the client make an attempt to obtain the information from the client’s Doctor.
• In order for a WA policy to be dated prior to the Nov. 1^st deadline, we will require these items by the 10/29 3pm CST deadline:
  • Underwriting decision
  • Issue Requirements
  • Premium

• If we have all of these requirements by the deadline, the policy will be dated by 10/29. The policy delivery & delivery requirements can happen after Nov. 1^st. Expect that there will be a delay in the mailing of these policies.
• You may see a notice on the file to submit pending policy requirements by 10/15. Sending requirements and premium by 10/15 will help us in getting policies issued by the deadline but ultimately 10/29 is the hard deadline.
